Delete a Linear Feature

If you notice that a Linear feature (Road, River, Railway, or Trail) does not exist, you can always delete it from maps.
How to Delete a Linear Feature:
Find the feature that you'd like to delete using the Search, Find, or Browse feature
Click the feature to view the information window
Click on the Edit drop-down on the information window.
Select Delete this.
Select a reason for deleting a feature from the drop-down menu to help the reviewer understand the reason for your deletion.
Feature does not exist: A feature that does not add any value to maps and should be deleted.
A duplicate of this feature exists: Indicates that the feature already exists on the map. If a duplicate of the feature already exists, select the reason as ‘Place marked duplicate’ instead of ‘Feature does not exist’. It is always good to provide the link of the duplicate feature.
The feature is spam/abuse: Indicates that the feature contains inappropriate or malicious information that has been deliberately added.
This place is closed: Indicates that the road is permanently closed. Remember it’s best to edit Construction Status if the closure is temporary.
Other: The option "Other" is selected by default. Select "Other" if you do not find a specific reason in the drop-down menu and provide additional information in the Comments to the Edit Reviewer field.
Use the Comments to the edit reviewer field to provide additional details about your edit.
Click Save when you're done.
Best Practices:
Always add a Comment to include a valid reason for the deletion.
The deletion should be supported by satellite imagery. If satellite imagery does not support the deletion, please provide a valid reason for deletion.
If you notice that the existing feature needs some corrections, it is always good toedit a feature rather than deleting it.
If you are trying to delete a road because it is closed or travel is restricted, you can instead set Construction Status by editing the feature.
Roads which lead to private/gated communities and roads inside military areas or airbases should not be deleted; instead you can always edit the road and change the priority according to Road Priority guidelines.
Driveways leading to multiple houses should not be deleted - it’s best to keep them to ensure proper routing to the addresses. Instead, the priority can be set to ‘Terminal’.
Linear features must be deleted one segment at a time - i.e., you cannot delete multiple segments of an entire road at one go.
